Microsoft SharePoint offers a user-friendly interface between desktops and servers - allowing staff to access documents and collaborate on projects with great ease. SharePoint offers both internal document management as well as web content management – allowing pages of a website to be changed and edited in the same way that the intranet is. This mixed with integration into Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) means that collaboration can take place from anywhere – at home or on a mobile device.

SharePoint 2010 offers enhanced features to the previous 2007 version. The infamous Office Ribbon Bar (which is used in the Office 2007 suite) means that the interface is familiar to staff – so there’s no new set of controls and functions to learn.
