Strategy Development

IRW undertakes strategic reviews on behalf of public, and private sector clients. The process involves reviewing the client organisation from a range of perspectives to

  • Establish the extent to which the organisation's strategy meets the needs of all relevant stakeholders
  • Determine what is appropriate to the operating environment
  • Recognise the strategic challenges and
  • Establish whether the strategy is aligned with international best practice.

Working closely with the client to ensure that the review outcome is both challenging and achievable is a key feature of our approach. We have a successful track record of providing strategic reviews for a wide variety of clients in both the public and private sectors. Our experience helps us quickly understand the specific strategic issues facing client organisations and we are confident in developing strategies to address them.

Strategy Development

An effective corporate strategy is essential to enable organisations to maximise their potential. IRW works with clients in the public and private sectors to develop strategies to enable them to become leaders in their fields.

The strategy development process begins with the establishment of the organisation's vision and an objective assessment of its capability to deliver it. The focus is then on identifying the necessary resources and actions to bridge the gap between the current status and the vision.

This analysis forms the basis for the development of an implementation plan that sets out the road map for the introduction of the new strategy.

Organisational Reviews

IRW assists organisations to independently evaluate their organisational and structural arrangements. All private companies should undertake an orginaistional review following a change in shareholding structure, the adoption of a new strategic intent or the introduction of new management.

Public sector organisations need to respond to changes in their remit or to political or public concerns about the environment in which they operate. When undertaking an organisational review, we focus on a range of key issues including

  • The environment within which the organisation functions
  • The internal capability of the organisation in relation to strategy, process and delivery and
  • The ability of the organisation to manage performance.

A hallmark of our organisational reviews is consultation. With the approval of our clients, we provide all stakeholders with an opportunity to contribute to the review process. Our experience demonstrates that this approach is the most successful in delivering stakeholder buy-in. This in turn assists the implementation of organisational change arising from the process.
