IT Consultants - PRINCE2

IRW uses PRINCE2 as a Project Management Methodology. The Project Manager that would be assigned to this project is a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner.

In order to ensure that a customer’s requirements are met in terms of quality and service delivery, it is necessary from the outset of the project to ensure that the customer quality expectations are understood and acceptance criteria have been defined. It is also vital to identify any quality standards applicable to the project and the means by which the ‘quality’ of the project’s products will be verified.

This will form the basis of the Project Quality Plan, which will be maintained throughout the life of the project. Further checklists, including a Product Checklist and Quality Log will also be maintained.

Identification and analysis of the risks associated with the project will be conducted throughout, including recording of risks in a risks log. Risks will be communicated to the Project Board by the Project Manager, and appropriate responses to risk (e.g. contingency plans) managed.

Any issues, including barriers to progress, off-specifications and change requests, will be managed through the use of an issues log and raised with the Project Board when the impacts are identified as being outwith agreed tolerances. This management by exception provides the Project Board with appropriate control of the project and its deliverables. We practise a very hands-on approach to project management. This means that our developers work closely with our consultants and architects to understand exactly what to produce and will quickly notify IRW’s Project Manager of potential technical issues or problems.

Communication is a vital component of any project, and the sharing of an up-to-date Project Plan and provision of timely reporting (through Highlight Reports) will be a key responsibility of IRW’s Project Manager. In terms of ongoing support, IRW would liaise with the customer to agree an appropriate Service Level Agreement (SLA), detailing the required services, response times and availability. Performance of the services detailed in the SLA will be monitored on a regular basis and reviewed with the customer at the required intervals.

All IRW’s project managers are highly experienced and will have been responsible for the successful management of a large number of web-based systems.
